Dr. Mariam Bawany

Dr. Mariam Bawany, DDS, at dental practice in Aurora, IL.

Dr. Mariam Bawany

Dr. Mariam Bawany was born and raised in Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood. While attending Loyola University Chicago, she began volunteering at her dentist’s office—an experience that ignited her passion for dentistry and set her career path in motion.

Dr. Bawany earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine–Illinois. She was then selected as one of only four residents to pursue advanced clinical training through a highly competitive General Practice Residency at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois. During her residency, she developed a strong commitment to serving patients who had gone extended periods without access to quality dental care.

While in Peoria, Dr. Bawany dedicated evenings and weekends to shadowing local periodontists and oral surgeons, gaining extensive hands-on experience. Her commitment to excellence and continued skill development led to her earning Fellowship status with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). She is currently working toward Mastership status and remains dedicated to ongoing clinical education to stay at the forefront of dental research and technology.

Dr. Bawany finds immense fulfillment in helping patients restore their smiles, oral health, and confidence.

Outside the office, Dr. Bawany enjoys spending quality time with her husband and daughter. As a family, they love exploring Chicago’s museums and vibrant dining scene.
