Dr. Kimberley M. Young has recently retired from practicing dentistry after transitioning the ownership of the practice to Dr. Amy Newkirk. Dr. Kim has written the following letter to her patients. We wish Dr. Kim well in her retirement!
Dear Patient and Friend,
As many of you know, Young Dental Care was started by my father in 1956. Doc and I practiced together for 18 years and now the practice is 60 years old! In some cases, our office has treated three generations of your family. Each of you has become a valued friend and it has been my honor to be your dentist.
My son (yes, the baby so many of you have watched grow up) will leave for Indiana University in the fall. My husband and I have decided the time has come for us to share in our passions for golfing, traveling, watching our grandchildren grow, and possibly attending some IU ball games – together in retirement.
After a long and careful search, I have found the right dentist to take over my practice. Many of you have already had the opportunity to meet and work with Dr. Amy Newkirk, who joined our practice last year. Dr. Newkirk is a caring, talented, and compassionate professional, who shares my commitment to excellent comprehensive family dentistry. Dr. Newkirk is a 2004 doctoral graduate of the School of Dental Medicine at Southern Illinois University and a 2005 graduate of the post-doctoral hospital residency at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Newkirk, her husband Randy (a lifelong resident of the Fox Valley), and their two young children, Reilly and Garrett, have been a welcome addition to the Young Dental Care family.
The practice is now under the ownership of Dr. Newkirk, and I know that you will extend to her the same courtesy and loyalty that you have afforded my father and me over these past 60 years. Dr. Newkirk and I have worked closely together to ensure a smooth transition, and I will continue to practice alongside both Dr. Amy Newkirk and Dr. Carlene Whitney through the summer of 2017.
It has been my life’s work and greatest pleasure to be of service to you and your families. I wish you all great luck, good health, lots of laughter, and much love.
Dr. Kimberley M. Young
